Kernacopia Celebrates New Space with Clients
8.5.06
Marysville, OH – Kristin Kern, founder and president of Kernacopia, Ltd., recently hosted an open house for clients and company friends. After the group’s recent move to their new office at 103 Professional Parkway, Kristin and her staff wanted to celebrate their new space with the clients that made it possible.
“We were thrilled with the turnout and positive response to our new space,” said Kristin. “From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., over 65 visitors walked through the office doors.” Kernacopia clients Heflin’s Catering and Rick’s Grill provided an impressive spread for breakfast and lunch, respectively, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance. However, in true Kernacopia style, the open house did not just consist of munchies, coffee and mingling; the event was designed to be quirky, interactive and fun for all.
To put a twist on the standard open house format, Patty Crago and Ashley Robinson, two of the company’s project specialists, planned creative activities to be enjoyed by their guests. They decided to memorialize the open house by making the attendees a permanent fixture in the office. As a spin on the traditional guest-book format, the Kernacopians crafted painted beverage trays and lined them with colorful glass tiles. The trays were set at the front entrance and each open house guest was asked to sign his or her name on a tile. The beverage trays now beautifully grace the conference room table and bookcase.
Guests were then asked to get their hands a little dirty. A take-away bookmark with a special feature was given to each person: the purple house cut-out was made of seeded paper. When soaked in water and planted, this special paper sprouts a variety of annual and perennial flowers. To symbolize cooperative business growth, each person planted the chimney from the house in a large planter. Kernacopia is happy to report the recent arrival of tiny green sprouts coming out of the planter that basks in the sun by their back entrance!
“It was gratifying to see our clients’ enjoying the variety of activities we planned,” Kristin commented. “The work we do is usually fun but challenging as we strive to provide them with innovative solutions, but it was it was really refreshing to kick back and relax with them during the open house.”
